​IUPAT Local 177 is a combination of Local 583 Calgary Painters, Local 1016 Edmonton Painters and Glaziers and Local 1725 Calgary Glaziers representing painters and allied trades in the province of Alberta for over 100 years. In 1993, these Locals combined and formed Local 177 of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades to better serve the interests of the membership.
